Wielton makes tipper bodies 20% lighter with Hardox® 450 wear plate

Based in Poland, Wielton designs and builds tipper and trailer bodies as well as semitrailer chassis for a range of transport and agricultural equipment. The Wielton logo proudly sports a camel, symbolizing the animal’s strength, endurance and ability to carry heavy loads over long distances – features that just as well apply to Hardox^® wear plate and Strenx^® structural steel. For over 20 years, Wielton has been making bodies in Hardox^® steel and chassis in Strenx^® to live up to customers’ high expectations for productivity and durability.

Wielton started out using Hardox^® 400 in its rigid dump bodies but upgraded to Hardox^® 450 as well as Strenx^® 700MC in chassis for its curtainside semitrailers, tipper semitrailers and containers. They are looking into upgrading to higher steel grades so they can offer even more weight reductions, increased loading capacity, improved durability and reduced fuel consumption to their customers.
