The constant search for efficiency and performance takes Recasy Trailers to a new level of innovation in the manufacture of its flatbeds. The strategic partnership with SSAB and its cutting-edge technology, represented by Strenx^® 960, marks a milestone in the development of the Mexican company. The adoption of steel has enabled the company to reduce the weight of its vehicles, increase their load capacity and improve their operational and environmental efficiency.

Strenx^® 960 is a high-strength steel with higher toughness, lighter weight and versatility. The material has a higher yield strength, which gives it greater malleability, i.e. it improves manufacturing processes such as cutting, bending and welding.

The adoption of the new technology for the production of the Flatbed produced by the company meets the demands of the market for higher load capacity and lighter transport vehicles. Implementing Strenx^® 960 has reduced up to 600 kilos in curtain decks, maximizing operational and economic efficiency. In this way, Recasy Trailers has delivered to its customers a lighter, more load-bearing product that is more competitive in the market.

"When you reduce the weight of the unit, you can increase the payload by the amount of weight you reduce. With Strenx^® 960 we achieve a lightweight product, which provides lower fuel consumption and better tire performance," says Raymundo Barrera, commercial manager at Recasy Trailers.

Barrera also highlights the increased durability of its products. “One of the main benefits of using Strenx^® 960 steel is that the service life of a platform is increased by 40%,” he says.

However, the impact doesn't stop at efficiency. With a more environmentally friendly perspective, adopting Strenx^® 960 not only optimizes production, but also, from an operational perspective for the end user, further reduces greenhouse gas emissions by around 195 tons per year in the fleet. A crucial contribution in the age of sustainability.

“We are looking for cleaner steels, and SSAB is developing a fossil-free steel that we hope to be able to use here in Mexico in our units, so we can be at the forefront,” he says.

SSAB operates in Mexico with a local technical team available to support its customers in all countries in the loading and transport attachment upgrade project. In Recasy Trailers’ vision, working with the support of SSAB professionals is synonymous with guaranteed performance of steel properties. “We received all the necessary support, both commercial, technical and developmental, and the support from Tomás Falcón, Technical Development Manager at SSAB, contributed to the restructuring of our entire unit, with new welding and assembly processes,” says Raymundo.

"One of the advantages we have with the application of SSAB Strenx^® 960 steel in our new product is that because it is light and has high strength potential, we are able to position our platforms to meet our customers' needs in a more satisfactory way. Before, structures were needed that required greater investment from the companies, now all that is needed is space to manoeuvre the forklifts," says Raymundo.

Barrera explains that the benefits of Strenx^® 960 can also be applied to other products. “In this way, we are expanding our customer service by offering much more space and facilities to transport their products according to different demands,” he explains.
